Hoosier volunteers frame of bathrooms in the volunteer center in D'Iberville.
Lumber for bunk beds is stacked in foreground. Mattresses are stacked in the background. Bunks were built on Monday, March 6.

Some materials came today - enough we could start framing up the rooms inside and building the bunk beds. Today, we got the metal studs in place for the bathrooms. Everything is looking good. We made legs for the bunks until we ran out of material. More is expected tomorrow. The weather is outstanding. Cool (65-75) and dry. We hear it is pretty cool in Indy. A couple of pictures for those interested. The first shows the frame up of the bathrooms. The framing is about 10 feet high and will provide nicely for the 9 foot high suspended ceiling. The lumber is for the side rails and legs of the bunk beds. The mattresses can be seen in the corner. We remain very optimistic about the schedule. So tell those planning to come later there will be work. We had a visit from a reporter and photographer with the UM New Service out of Nashville. The had heard of the project and it was the first stop on their tour of south Mississippi where they are looking for stories. Maybe we will see something in the national United Methodist newspapers.

Keeping the Spirit,
Gary Walla
