Seashore Volunteer Center Journal from D'Iberville

April 26, 2006

Week Eight

After a great breakfast prepared by one of the Virginia Work Teams, we continued to work on the following items:

  • Light spackling, finish sanding and touchup painting of interior walls and door frames,
  • Began installing ceiling tiles and ceiling insulation in all rooms,
  • Finished installing the water and sewer lines (yeah!),
  • Poured the sidewalk to the main entrance,
  • Began completing the fire/smoke alarms in each room,
  • Installed the two ranges and microwaves and
  • Began work on the center island in the kitchen.

We finished the water and sewer lines in the rain, and after a little problem with a water leak, we had the water supply back online to the church in about four hours.

Again, this is the last week and we're pushing hard. Please continue to hold us in your prayers for stamina and protection. And please prayerfully consider how you and your congregation can continue to support the ongoing work here in D'Iberville and its surrounding area.

With a new dormitory space nearly completed, we will have wonderfully comfortable facilities to do great work for God's people here in Mississippi.

God bless you all and stay tuned for more from the Seashore District Volunteer Center Project this week!

PS To date, the Indiana Area United Methodist Foundation has received $103,605, leaving $96,395 to goal.
