Seashore Volunteer Center Journal from D'Iberville

Week Seven

Easter Sunday began week seven of the Seashore District Volunteer Center build. So far the volunteer construction project located on the property of Heritage UMC in D'Iberville, Miss., is on schedule. To date the permanent electrical is into the building clearing a big hurtle. Now newly installed light switches turn on lights in the building. Preparations for sprinkler and flooring projects will be done this week. Last week, three teams worked in the community on two homes and a Catholic Church.

Financially, the project is far from its goal of $200,000. More than $100,000 is still needed. To date $98,870 has been received in the Indiana Area United Methodist Foundation office, which is handling project finances. This week and last week, Ed Simpson will be coordinating the work of 32 volunteers. Of those, 29 volunteers will be working on construction. The others will in meal preparation. More than 220 volunteers have worked on the project.
