“W00t for Joy”
I learned a new word today, and I understand that it is the latest
word added to the official dictionary of the English language. The word
is “W00t” – spelled with two zeroes. It is a word of joy for the newer
generations in their text message world.
It is a new word for me, and I had to Google it to learn about it,
but I like the word. It is a word of “Wow!” and “Rejoice!” and
“Celebrate!”
It is an appropriate word for this Sunday, the 3rd Sunday of Advent,
which is known in Latin as “Gaudette Sunday”- or the Sunday of joy. It
is the reason for the pink candle in the Advent Wreath (if you use 3
purple and 1 pink candle). The pink candle is for the 3rd Sunday, the
Joy Sunday, or the W00t Sunday.
So be sure to enter into the joy this Sunday. Celebrate the joy of
Christ coming into the world for our redemption, our salvation, and our
new life.
Rejoice this Sunday and this season – no matter what word you use for
it. Maybe it is time to W00t!
