D'IBERVILLE, Miss. -- Gary Walla of St. Luke's UMC in Indianapolis
and part of the building crew for week one at the Seashore District
Volunteer Center in D'Iberville, Miss., sent this word on Sunday, March
5 from the site.
"As we arrived today at the Heritage UMC in D'Iberville, we found a
construction crew finishing up the outside shell of the building. It was
noon on Sunday and they had been working straight through since Tuesday.
"It was exciting to see the last panel go on.
"Sunday afternoon, we cleaned out the building. The mattresses
arrived in another truck and tonight some of us will be sleeping in the
new 'dormitory' on the new mattresses that will go on the bunks we will
start building Monday.
"We have people from many places in Indiana; Calvary Chapel UMC in
Danville, Mt. Zion UMC in Crawfordsville, Southport UMC in Southport,
Trinity UMC in Arcadia, Castleton UMC in Indianapolis, Brownsburg
Christian in Brownsburg, Plainfield UMC in Plainfield, Zionsville UMC in
Zionsville and St. Luke's UMC in Indianapolis.
"It 's a great group and we are looking forward to the week.
"We took a couple of pictures that you might enjoy."
"Keeping the Spirit."
