Operation Classroom VanAnyone who has ever served on an Operation Classroom work team in Sierra Leone can probably remember jiggling around in the Operation Classroom van through the streets of Freetown and on the bumpy roads in the provinces. WORK TEAMS, BUILDING SUPPLIES and SCHOOL SUPPLIES are transported in the van, year round. The old 1988 Toyota model is worn out! Now that the war is over, the work of Operation Classroom is going on in full force, including the scheduling of more work teams. The 12 districts in Indiana that are in partnership with schools in Sierra Leone are invited to donate toward the purchase of a new van: A Toyota HiAce commuter Minibus LWB 15 seater with 2.41 diesel 4 cylinder, 5-speed transmission with air-conditioning and power steering. The cost will be around US $19,300. The van will be shipped to Freetown from Japan. Be a BIG WHEEL!We are asking churches, or church groups or individuals to donate $100 to go toward the purchase of the van. We need approximately 16 BIG WHEELS. or $1600 from each of the 12 districts. Of course, smaller donations are always appreciated. BIG WHEELS will receive a certificate to acknowledge their gift.
