University of Evansville exceeds enrollment expectation
"The University's freshman class is one of diversity and high quality."

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - For the fifth consecutive year, the United Methodist-related University of Evansville has met or exceeded its enrollment goal. "When classes began on August 29, the entering class of 2007 numbered 660 strong, exceeding our goal of 650," said Dr. Stephen Jennings, University President. Overall enrollment at the University was also two percent higher than last year.
According to Jennings, several reasons for the increase in enrollment include the University of Evansville's strong reputation, its large number of highly-accredited academic programs, the construction of the new Ridgway University Center, and the opening of the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration Building.
"The University's freshman class is one of diversity and high quality," said Vice President for Enrollment Services Dr. Tom Bear. The University's entering class of 2007 comes from 32 states and 23 countries. More than 10 percent of UE freshmen are students of color and an additional 6 percent are international.
The University of Evansville continues to enroll students from the local area with 121 freshmen from Vanderburgh and Warrick counties. Seventy-six percent of freshmen are from the states of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Missouri.
