Comedy concert will benefit Mid-East interfaith school

INDIANAPOLIS (UIndy) - The Montana Logging & Ballet Company will bring its topical humor and music to Indianapolis on Nov. 18 in a performance to benefit a unique interfaith educational institution in Israel.

For three decades, this quartet with the cheeky name has entertained audiences across America with original songs and skits that satirize current events and contemporary society, sometimes even inspired by the latest local news. The Montana Logging & Ballet Company has been heard on National Public Radio and has played for such audiences as the National Press Club and the National Education Association.

The group will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St. in Indianapolis. Tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased in advance at St. Luke's and at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, 600 W. 70th St. also in Indianapolis.

Patron packages also are available, with premiums that include VIP seating and an hors d'oeuvres reception featuring the acclaimed sculpture work of Montana Logging member Tim Holmes. For more information, call 317-846-3404 or write montanaconcert@hotmail.com.

All proceeds from this special performance, presented by St. Luke's, Beth-El Zedeck and the University of Indianapolis, will benefit scholarship funds for undergraduate students at Mar Elias Campus in Ibillin, Israel, an innovative private institution that promotes peace and interfaith understanding by welcoming students and faculty from the Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Druze faith traditions.

The concert is the Closing Celebration of the 2007 Spirit & Place Festival, which runs Nov. 2-18 under the theme Living Generously. More information on Spirit & Place is available at www.spiritandplace.org.
