Duke theologian assists Imagine Indiana team work

The Rev. Greg Jones, dean of the Duke Divinity School in Durham, N.C., spent Nov. 20 with the Imagine Indiana Discernment teams. He said he had great hope, not only for this news (of a possible new conference) to Indiana but what it means to the entire church. He complimented the 37 leaders present at that reporting session for "not just talking about possible unity, but about the future and how we view God's mission." He quoted from Acts 15 and Ephesians 3.

He said, "God has to be on the horizon (of the church) to be a faithful witness for the next 25 years," and that needs to be more of a focus than 2007 and 2008 decisions on whether or not to become one conference.
