Lapel Trinity's campus becomes a reality

More than five years ago Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, Ind. began planning for the development of a second campus, located on 25 acres of land just off Interstate 69 northeast of Indianapolis.

The church - located in a landlocked building in the town of Lapel - had a vision to provide a community center for the growing number of residents moving into the new housing developments along I-69. Under the leadership of its pastor, the Rev. Evan Lash, the church voted to buy land at the corner of state Route 13 and 38 and launch its Trinity Life Center (TLC).

The church began by developing a one-mile walking/meditation trail on its new site, and a popular soccer league for children. Early this year it expanded its ministry by launching a Montessori preschool in a new $1.2 million facility. On Nov. 5, the church launched a weekly Sunday worship service held at 11:11 a.m. at its TLC site.

It would have been easy for this congregation, which averages 250 worshipers each Sunday, not to go to such lengths to minister to complete strangers. Yet it saw an opportunity to share the Gospel and to provide God's TLC with its new neighbors. Please keep this congregation's new worship service in your prayers as it begins.
