Trips to Africa also being planned for this year

Operation Classroom plans ingathering at each Indiana annual conference session this spring

xOperation Classroom, a mission outreach of the Indiana Area to Liberia and Sierra Leone, plans to hold an ingathering of supplies during each of the two Indiana Annul Conferences June 1-3 at Purdue University in West Lafayette for the North Conference and June 8-10 at Indiana University for the South Conference. The truck will be parked near each conference site and will be open all day Thursday, Friday and until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Supplies needed are white anti-dust chalk, copy paper, YES (elementary and secondary) and ET kits, notebooks, and other school supplies. Also needed are medical supplies including vitamins, Tylenol, Band-Aids, cough medications, rolled bandages, toothbrushes, toothpaste, light blankets, soap, etc. For more information, check the Operation Classroom Web site at www.operationclassroom.org.

VBS Mission Projects

Operation Classroom also announces that the Vacation Bible School mission projects selected for this year will be:

  1. Soccer balls, kickballs, volleyballs and basketballs (please, no baseballs, softballs or footballs),

  2. Table tennis sets (tables can be built in West Africa),

  3. Bible story coloring books and crayons,

  4. Construction paper,

  5. Children's scissors and school glue,

  6. Spiral notebooks,

  7. Hand-held solar calculators,

  8. Band-Aids.

Churches can choose one or more of these projects. For more details, check the Web site www.operationclassroom.org or write to ocmission@frontiernet.net.

  • Oct. 1 - 19 to WPL Brumskine School, Buchanan, Liberia, contact Mona Morgan at 317-844-3759.

  • Oct. 22 - Nov. 7 to Ganta, Liberia, contact Kay and Lamar Ziegler at 317-773-6620.
