CTS to host preaching workshop with Dan MoseleyINDIANAPOLIS (CTS) - Dan Moseley is scheduled to lead a preaching workshop entitled "The Art of Facilitating Healing Relationships" on Monday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. This workshop will explore how preaching that transforms is communication that enables strangers to be in healing relationships with each other. Preaching is often seen as the communication of ideas. It is sometimes measured on the basis of how much people understand. However, during this workshop we will explore how we are healed and transformed by relationships in which we are known and loved more than we are by ideas. We will explore how the preacher can help congregants make connections with people in scripture and in contemporary culture and how those relationships can begin, deepen and end in ways that help us become new. The cost of the conference is $40 (lunch included) and the registration deadline is May 16. Participants should arrive the day of the conference at 8:30 a.m. in room 122 for registration. Moseley was pastor of Vine Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 15 years before coming to CTS in 1997 to teach practical parish ministry. He teaches regularly at the College of Preachers at Washington Cathedral, is active in the church both locally and nationally and teaches preaching and ministerial leadership throughout the United States. Moseley helped develop Grief Healing, Inc. and has written numerous articles and sermons for publication. He edited Joyful Giving, a book of sermons on stewardship. He holds a B.D. and D.Min. from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tenn. Cost is $40 and includes lunch. Registration deadline: May 16. CEU contact hours: 4.5.
