Elwood First to offer 15th annual live nativityELWOOD, Ind. - "For Unto Us a Child Is Born" - Isaiah 9:6 - is this year's theme for the 15th annual live nativity presentation by the congregation of First United Methodist Church located at North A and Anderson Streets in Elwood. On Sunday, Nov. 28 at 3:45 p.m. a parade of camels, donkeys, shepherds and kings accompanied by music is scheduled to move through downtown Elwood to the manger scene. The animals and costumed characters will depict from 4 to 7 p.m. the manger birth, with animals available for viewing from 2 to 7 p.m. Organizers say that a continuous program of choral music, handbell choirs, instrumentals and reading of the Christmas story will take place in the church. Over 50 nativity sets will be on display in the church parlor. Refreshments will be served in the basement. All church building activities will be in operation from 4 to 6:30 p.m. General chairwoman, Heidi Elsbury, told Together event attendance has grown every year, and attracts visitors from the community as well as other Central Indiana communities. More than 120 First Church members are scheduled to participate. The congregation extends an invitation to all to come experience the live presentation. Last updated on 25 Apr 2008 |
