Asbury Award for his dedication to campus ministry.
The Rev. Bill Farmer, pastor at Kokomo Zion, and Beth Helton, member of Union
Chapel in Muncie, received the clergy and laity Denman Evangelism Awards,
respectively.
Honorees of this year's Bread & Basin awards for service to Christ's church
were all lay members: Mickey and Janet Lawson (Anderson New Horizons UMC);
Willie Green (Gary Delaney UMC); Gary Hall (Fort Wayne First UMC); Russell
Phillips (Fulton UMC); and Smoky Montgomery (Fort Wayne First Wayne St. UMC).
Shelley Dodson, Greenwood UMC, was the winner of the 2002 Laity Manuscript
Contest with her message, "The Last Row Near the Door."
Paula Clutter, Anna Waite and Arthur Collins received the Church's Torch
Awards for outstanding contributions to scouting ministry.
Scout Troop #47 and Venture Crew received the Bishop's annual Award of
Excellence
Barbara Ferris, Folsom Memorial UMC in Worthington, received the Historian of
the Year Award.
Julie Gaus and the Rev. Douglas Heiman received the Harry Denman Evangelism
Awards for laity and clergy, respectively.
The Revs. Janet Jacobs and Debra Grady received Lydia Awards from COSROW
(Commission on Status and Role of Women)
