Gift of Hope:
21st Century Scholars Program

Wish you could reward student leaders for good church service? Now you can! With a new scholarship program designed specifically for student leaders.

There are young people in your congregation on the road to leadership. You know them well - they are the ones leading Sunday school classes, singing solos in the church choir, heading up mission trips, volunteering for service projects, or just always willing to do what ever needs to be done. They are the ones you can always rely on for help. It is time to show them that church service can be a rewarding experience in more ways than one.

The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) is affirming the work of those student leaders by offering a $4 million, four-year scholarship program available through its Office of Loans and Scholarships.

The Gift of Hope: 21st Century Scholars Program is intended to provide $1,000 scholarship awards to 1,000 United Methodist students each year. GBHEM is committed to preparing a new generation of Christian leaders. This scholarship will provide support to students who are already in leadership in the church and will continue to be leaders once they graduate. The new program will benefit students attending any regionally accredited academic institution in the U.S. Applications are due in the Nashville office by May 1. To receive an application, please contact GBHEM at 615/340-7344 or umscholar@gbhem.org .
