YOUTH SERVICE FUND GRANTS

A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

from the United Methodist Women

  • A Brighter Future for Children and Youth provides grants for new and on-going ministries addressing abuse and violence prevention or treatment and those providing direct, comprehensive services to children and youth for children 5-18 years of age.
  • Application forms with funding criteria are available from the Office of Mission Opportunities. Application deadline is July 1 of each year. Recipients are approved by the Women's Division Board of Directors in October, and applicants are notified in November. Grants do not exceed $6,000.

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS

from Shared Mission Focus On Young People

  • Grants for projects with youth and young adults (ages 12-30) are being offered through the General Board of Church and Society, General Board of Global Ministries, General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, and General Board of Discipleship. Shared Mission Focus on Young People is the supervisory office, which establishes base criteria. Each agency then adds additional criteria. Application for the grants is made directly to each individual agency.
  • Grants of up to $15,000 per year for up to three years are available for local churches, conferences, campus ministries and other organizations that work with youth and young adults. Application deadline for the first funding cycle is Jan. 15, 2002.
