Stand Up Invasion to host top bandsBy Kristin Coffin Now, more than ever, Christian music is being used as a creative outlet to worship God. Many popular groups have broken the boundaries and entered pop culture. Some of your favorite groups might be a Christian based band without your even knowing it. For example: P.O.D. (Payable On Death), Sixpence None the Richer or Mary Mary. All of these are groups that have become popular in the mainstream while still spreading their message about God. There are tons of groups that haven't become mainstream, but are just as cool. If you're a fan of alternative music try Skillet. If you like rap or hip hop there's the group Gospel Gangstaz. Tons of artists can be found in the pop category. There's something for everyone, just dive in and experiment with something new. If you haven't heard, there's going to be a major youth event held in Indianapolis this month. The Stand Up Invasion will be held April 19-20 at the RCA Dome. This is your opportunity to experience the best in Christian music. Six bands will appear, including Newsboys and Gospel Gangstaz. NFL great Kurt Warner will be one of nine speakers.
