A Brite Idea from Sharpsville UMC:

New twist on gleaning the fields

Beginning Labor Day weekend (Saturday-Monday), the maze will be open for adventurers from 1-5 p.m. every Sat. and Sun., with special nighttime trips through the maze October 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31. Groups of ten or more can arrange for other times, if necessary.

The cost of the maze is $5 per person, $3 for children 10 years of age and under. The nighttime trips through the maze costs $5 for everyone. Proceeds will be used for projects at Sharpsville UMC. Guests who attend the nighttime trips through the maze should bring a flashlight.

The maze is located on State Road 19 between State Roads 26 and 28 in Tipton County. Call 800/217-7324 or 963-5359 (locally), for more details or to make arrangements for groups. Paula Shrock

Light to shine on 'Brite Idea'

Longtime readers will recognize the familiar Brite Idea light bulb found throughout the Hoosier UM News each month. In the upcoming October issue, Brite Idea will grow from its short format to a full-page. For years, Brite Idea has served as a way to recognize local churches for creative ministries. The change will allow readers to gain further insight of these innovative programs.

Does your church have a Brite Idea? If so, describe your "creative" ministry in 300 words or less. Include a sharp photo, noting who is in the picture and what's going on. Also, please note your name and daytime phone number. Send to: "Brite Idea" Hoosier UM News, 1100 W. 42nd St., Suite 210, Indianapolis, Ind. 46208.
