What does God expect of you personally?
Myrna Neff
Jefferson Center UMC
Warren
|
He expects me to use what he has given me, to do the very best I can.
He only expects what I am capable of doing, no more, but no less. God
expects me to be humble, sincere, contrite, forgiving, loyal, serving
with joy, to be truthful and always thanking him for his goodness and
grace to me. He expects me to read his word and to communicate with him
every day, to share the good news of Jesus with others by word and by
the way I live each day.

Everything! "Come, follow me." I need to be the best
husband, the best father to my children, the best friend to my neighbors.
God puts me in a sphere of influence. He wants me to give joyfully and
generously. He wants me to be "willing to get out of the boat." |
Martha Brady

God expects me to love -- to love everyone. That's our
commitment. If we put love first as Jesus commanded, we would not have the
society problem today that we do have.
Love takes the place of the Ten Commandments for me. I have no choice
except to love everyone! |
Eugene McCormick
Edwards Memorial UMC
Liberty
|
God expects me to reach out with Christ's love and touch
other people. I'm a retired farmer, and I work every day at a retirement
home in Liberty, with handicapped persons. I also drive a van for those who
are handicapped. I feel very close to them. |

He expects me to do all I can for the church (and) seeing people who
are not able to come to church. I take tapes of the service, and visit
them and bring them up-to-date on what the church is doing. I also visit
in nursing homes. Prayer is an important part in my life, praying for
the church, the minister, the many committees of the church and the
people of our congregation.
